Presentation title: “Research conducted at the Telecommunication Department of the University of Jaén, Spain”
Abstract:
In this presentation, a general description of the Telecommunication Department from my university will be given. At this moment, there are several projects ongoing in the health topic as well as in music topic. Some of these projects involve sound source separation, automatic musical instrument accompaniment, music score tracking, pulmonary and heart disease detection, apnoea episode detection and snore detection in patients with diagnosed sleeping apnoea.
“REPERTORIUM” is one of the ongoing projects, and it combines artificial intelligence and deep learning solutions to perform the optical recognition of musical scores and the retrieval of musical information in multiple musical datasets.
“Research and development of signal processing algorithms to improve the reliability of the medical diagnostics by analysing signals from the auscultation process”, another one of the department’s projects has as its main objective the development of new signal processing algorithms aimed at improving the reliability of the diagnosis issued by a physician when analysing pulmonary or cardiopulmonary signals from the auscultation process.
