Short Bio

Sérgio Rebelo (Ovar, Portugal 1993) is a PhD candidate and design researcher at the Cognitive and Media Systems group of Centre for Informatics and Systems of University of Coimbra. He holds a master degree in Design and Multimedia (2016) from the University of Coimbra having previously concluded a Bachelor's degree in the same institution. He has been a practising graphic designer since he was an undergraduate student in the courses of Design and Multimedia at the University of Coimbra. He has worked in collaboration with several graphic design studios and entities, amongst which we highlight: R2 (Oporto, Portugal), Círculo de Artes Plásticas de Coimbra (Coimbra, Portugal), Caminhos Film Fest (Coimbra, Portugal), Joana Monteiro (Coimbra, Portugal). Alongside his commercial practice, he has developed self-initiated work in the social design field being founding-member of Há Baixa Project (Portugal, 2016) a design and architecture social project that aims the promotion of the discussion about the role of design and architecture in Coimbra's downtown. He has exhibited work and given talks in several Portuguese and international conference.
