Focusing Education on Composability, Comprehensibility and Correctness of Working Software

Description

The main objective of the project is to train educators from selected universities (e.g. partners are training other partners in this project) in the field of functional programming (FP) and closely related areas of informatics that this trained university staff then will contribute to the increasing of the level of education at their home university. Partners train other partners in a selected area of FP by sharing their research results and using their (specific) teaching experience and methods. We expect novel knowledge to be taught in all theoretical levels. Theoretical (research) results will be presented in a form of tutorials, which usually include illustrative examples and applications. The central event related to the project is the Central European Functional Programming Summer school, this is why CEFP is included with the project. This event is suited for students and their teachers. Other activities include the before mentioned trainings of educators, multiplier and dissemination events (sharing intellectual outputs), which are researcher/teacher activities. The main strategy relies on the differences in teaching methods and curricula and its goal is to ensure equity over equality between regions in the EU by raising the graduates to the approximately same level of knowledge on FP and applications making them prepared to produce highly composable, comprehensible and correctly working software for any further not defined domain from a position of software engineer.
