Short Bio
Catarina Maçãs has a Bachelor and Master degree in Design and Multimedia from University of Coimbra and has a PhD in Information Science and Technology also from the University of Coimbra. Currently, she is a computational designer and researcher at the Computational Design and Visualization Lab. and is also a teaching assistant at the Department of Informatics Engineering of the University of Coimbra. In the past two years, started to work on Information Visualization and had already published in conferences such as, IJCAI and IVAPP. Her interests lie on information visualization, aesthetics, computational art and design, graphic design, typography, photography and motion graphics. Particularly, she is interested in exploring the space between Data Visualization and Information Aesthetics and in creating and exploring new models of visualization.
