Short Bio

Hi there! Without any surprise, my name is Francisco. I am from Coimbra, Portugal, and I have studied Mathematics (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) at the University of Coimbra. I am a Ph.D. in Transportation Systems (within the collaborative framework of the MIT-Portugal Doctoral Program) with a heavy focus on Machine Learning and Data Science tools. I was recently a research assistant and then a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), where I was a member of the Machine Learning for Smart Mobility (MLSM) group at DTU Management. At the same time, I have been an associate member of the Center for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC) within the Adaptive Computation Group (ACG). My main general interests are Statistics, Bayesian Statistics, Data Science, Big Data, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Simulation Models, and Intelligent Transportation Systems, despite being open to virtually any research field and application domain.
