Short Bio

Miguel de Oliveira Guerreiro is currently a Principal Software Engineer and Systems Architect at OutSystems R&D, PhD researcher at the Software and Systems Group at CISUC and an Invited Assistant Professor at the Distributed Systems group from INESC-ID, Instituto Superior Técnico. He has broad experience in both industry and research environments with international research scholarships at CERN, Barcelona Supercomputing Center and major industry software players such as Talkdesk, OutSystems, etc. He graduated in Computer Science and Engineering from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and got his postgraduate in Distributed Systems at the Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. He's currently enrolled in a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Coimbra. His main research interests focus on Distributed Systems and Cloud Computing, more specifically on dependable fine-grained distributed systems, fault-tolerance and self-healing systems, efficient distributed data storage and large-scale geo-replicated systems.
