Full name: António Dourado Pereira Correia (short: António Dourado) Born: 15th March 1954 in Oliveira de Frades, Viseu, Portugal Academic degrees: Agregação (DSc, Habilitation) in February 1997, University of Coimbra Doutor (PhD) by the University of Coimbra (equivalence), July 1984. Diplôme de Docteur-Ingénieur, Université Paul Sabatier and LAAS du CNRS,Toulouse, France, December 1983. Diplôme d'Études Approfondies (DEA), Université Paul Sabatier and LAAS du CNRS,Toulouse, France, 1981. Electrical Engineering Degree, University of Coimbra, 1977. Professional positions: Full Professor (Professor Catedrático) of Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra (FCTUC) since 2002 Scientific Director of Soft Computing and Automation Group of Center for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC), since its foundation until 2019. Before, since 1989, has been assistant, Auxiliary Professor, Associate Professor in Informatics Engineering and Electrical Engineering Departments, University of Coimbra. Has been and is teaching courses on Systems Engineering, Automatic Control, Instrumentation, Fuzzy Systems, Neural Networks, Theory of Computation, General Management, to Engineering Students and MsC Students, in Informatics Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. Has been advisor of more than 20 MsC Theses and was advisor of 11 PhD theses. Has been and is involved in national projects (in collaboration with industry) and international projects at European level (included some Networks of Excellence).He has been the coordinator of the FP7 EU Project EPILEPSIAE. He is author or co-author of more than 250 international publications in referred journals, book chapters and conferences. Has been Director of the Department of Informatics Engineering, Elected Member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology and of the Scientific Committee of DEI, President of the Pedagogical Council of the Department of Electrical Engineering of FCTUC, member of the Directive Council and of the Representatives Assembly of FCTUC. He is member of IEEE (Computational Intelligence Society, System Man and Cybernetic Society, Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society) and ACM, and has been co-founder of European Control Association and President and co-founder of Portuguese Association of Automatic Control (IFAC National Member). He is Member of the Ordem dos Engenheiros (Portuguese Engineering Professional Association). He has been member of about two hundred International Scientific Program Committees, reviewer of numerous International Journals and evaluator of several international projects.
