Synopsis
This project, entitled "POWER - Empowering a digital future", aims to create an innovative portfolio of products and services, mostly based on cloud and cognitive technologies. Through a strong research and development effort, it will be aligned with strategic technological transformation vectors: 5G networks, Edge / Cloud computing continuum, data-driven technologies and business models, and Artificial Intelligence.
To this end, the project is structured into five technical subprojects: Subproject 1: New Technology Integration; Subproject 2: Future Networks; Subproject 3: Future Operations; Subproject 4: Future Services; Subproject 5: Data Business and 360 Monetization. The SP1, with a horizontal nature, aims to create cloud and cognitive adoption methodologies and infrastructure frameworks that can leverage the research and development of new products and services. The remaining technical SP, with a vertical nature, will take advantage of the knowledge created by SP1 to build a new offer of solutions at the forefront of the sector. This combination will allow Altice Labs and the national based technology to penetrate and conquer new markets while benefit from the new business models that these new technologies will stimulate.
In addition to all the internal technical skills of Altice Labs, as the lead promoter, this project also foresees the important participation of three entities from the National Research and Innovation System in the role of co-promoters and strategic partners in the research and internalization activities of knowledge: the University of Coimbra (UC), the Telecommunications Institute of Aveiro (IT Aveiro) and the Pedro Nunes Institute (IPN).
